About me

Hellow everybody!

My name is Olesya Rapotkina. I am an artist.

I love big formats. I am short on space in small ones 🙂

On this website you can see the photos of my artworks, learn about me, contact me. Most artworks can be bought. There is a comment next to each painting whether you can buy it or not. If you have any questions about the prices, delivery and others, you can write a message to me. You should click the button below and find the Contacts page

As far as selling my work, I can ship to most countries in the world. Many of my paintings are sold unframed. It is easier and less expensive to ship artwork in a tube. Any examples of framed artwork are for illustration purposes only.

Artist’s Statement

Olesya Rapotkina is a painter. She calls herself a traditional artist with a modern touch. As an artist Olesya prefers to work in oil, oil pastels, watercolours, coloured pencils. Sometimes she makes collages.

The main genres in which Olesya works are portrait, landscape, still life, animalistic.

Olesya is inspired by life around, nature, flowers, animals, architecture and many other things. She loves to observe nature. Flowers are one of her favourite subjects. Every flower, fruit, tree, animal, person, etc. has its own character. And she likes to convey this character of characters in her works.

Olesya’s artworks are colourful and emotional. She uses pastose stroke in oil, dynamic stroke in pastel, transparency and purity of colour in watercolour.

Olesya explores different styles and does not like to stick strictly to one style. Adherence to one style, in her opinion, limits creative endeavours.

Olesya uses high-quality canvases made of long-fibre linen and light-resistant pigments for oil painting. For watercolour she uses watercolour paper and watercolour canvases.

Olesya Rapotkina was born and grew up in the city of Aktyubinsk (now Aktobe), in the Republic of Kazakhstan. She then moved to Russia. Olesya has lived in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Now she is travelling in different countries.
